Mediation as an Alternative

The Court of Arbitration for Private Construction Law in Germany also offers mediation as an alternative means of resolving a dispute. Mediation can also be used as part of a court case, if both parties agree to it. Mediation is a voluntary procedure in which the parties to the conflict talk directly with each other with the aid of a mediator named by the Court in order to reach their own binding decisions regarding the dispute. The work of the mediator is calculated on an hourly basis. The hourly fee is currently 150,00 € for one mediator and 250,0 € for two, plus VAT and any additional costs.
